Alexandra MacLean was married to Donald MacLean. She took his last name when they got married. They lived in Beamsville Ontario by Niagara falls. On October 13 1920 Alexandra gave birth to her first and only child a baby girl Evelyn MacLean. One year after Evelyn was born Donald and Alexandra moved to Hamilton Ontario on 214 Rosslyn Avenue. Alexandra did not have a job she was a stay at home mother trying to get Evelyn in with the higher class society. Donald and herself sent Evelyn to Loretto Academy for schooling. The reason that they could send Evelyn there was because Evelyns godmother had money and sent a cheque taking care of the costs of the school. Alexandra herself had good education when she was younger. She worked as a governess in Balmoral Castle, but quite her job. Alexandra and her husband Donald did not get along. Donald was always getting into the alcohol and drunk. He also gambled a lot. Alexandra tried to get Evelyn in the high class society by helping Evelyn throw lavish parties at the Royal Connaught Hotel. By doing that Evelyn was getting attention but Alexandra herself was also getting attention too. Alexandra like Evelyn loved getting attention from others. During the investigation of her daughters husband John Dicks murder investigation whenever she was asked a question the answer would always end up being about her. When Alexandra and Donald split up she moved in with Evelyn and Heather (her granddaughter). When Evelyn announced to her that she was marrying John Dick she was not pleased because he did not come from money. Which Alexandra wanted Evelyn to marry someone from money. Alexandra spent time in jail because she was also a suspect in the murder of John Dick. She was realest when there was no sufficient evidence tying her to the murder of John Dick.
