Donald MacLean was born in the year 1878 and died in the year 1955. He was a prime suspect in the murder of his son in law John Dick.
These were the two knives that were used to dismember John Dicks Body. These two knives also belonged to Donald MacLean, Evelyns father. Also in Donalds basement the police found bullet holes in a pipe, a revolver and cartridges. They also found saws that could of been used and blood stained shoes that were almost certain John Dicks shoes.
In Donald MacLeans house police found evidence of burnt fragments of human bone and teeth were found in ashes spread on the ground behind the house.
Donald MacLean was married to Alexandra MacLean and then they had there first baby. They Had a baby girl, they named her Evelyn. Donald lived in Beamsville with his family before moving to Hamilton. Donald was born in Scotland and moved to Canada. A year after Evelyns birth Donald moved his family to Hamilton. Moved into 214 Rosslyn Avenue in Hamilton. He got a Job at the HSR( Hamilton Street Railway). Donald was a drunk, getting into the booze every night. He and his wife Alexandra did not get along so they just stayed away from each other for the most part. Donald was living on his own in the house he bought when he moved his family to Hamilton in the first place when he and Alexandra split up. She moved out and moved in with Evelyn in her apartment where Evelyns daughter was also living. Donald would bring home more money and put it in his bank account then he was making at his job at the HSR. Also the amount of money Evelyn and Alexandra were spending and neither of them had jobs. So people suspected that he was steeling money and tickets from the HSR but nobody believed it. John figured it out and he threatened to tell their boss at the HSR. After that Donald threatened to fix John. Donald and Bill Bohozuk had a joint trial. But since Evelyn was the only witness to tie Bill to the murder and her statements were unusable Bohozuk got to walk. Donald did not get as lucky as Bill because of the evidence found in his basement to tie him to the murder but not committing the murder. Donald was sentenced to five years in jail as an accessory after the fact.
