Characteristics of Evelyn Dick
Evelyn Dick was a nymphomaniac. Nymphomaniac is a female whose sex drive obsessively high. Nymphomania is considered to be a mental illness.
An example of this it says in the play 'How Could You Mrs. Dick?' that she has been with a lot of the men that live in Hamilton (pg. 15 in the play 'How Could You Mrs. Dick?) including the judge from Evelyns murder trial his son. Also when she was giving her statements to the police about her husband she told them that she met a man after her and John got married, and started seeing him five days after her and Johns wedding. Also when John and Evelyn meet at the Royal Connaught Hotel to work out their problems all Evelyn wanted to do was sleep with John and not work out their problems. (pg. 33 in the play 'How Could You Mrs. Dick?')

Evelyn Dick was a compulsive liar. She was a compulsive lair because when she first met John he asked her who Heathers father was and she told him that Heathers father her husband died on his ship during the war. She told him and other people that she was a "war widow". Then when she met Bill Bohozuk and she told Bill the same story but changed some details about the name of the ship and his position.
When she was brought in for questioning she told a story about what happened to her husband. After the first story she wanted to change her story. So she had two stories. After she changed her story she wanted to change it again to another story. So she told the detectives three different stories of what had happened to her husband. In every story she never confessed to killing her husband John. Every time it was someone else.

Evelyn Dick was secretive. She was secretive because when she was brought into the Police Station for questioning about her husbands murder she told the police that she knew that her husband was dead because she was told by Bill that he husbands torso was in the bag when she brought a car to him so that he could dump the body. She knew that her husband was missing but did not say a thing to the police. When she did go into the Police station before that was when she went to report her husband missing and said that he took off with tickets and money belonging to the HSR and there were people after her to pay it back. Evelyn Dick was flirtatious. She was flirtatious because when she met John for the first time and he was good with her daughter so she started flirting with him (pg. 22-33 in the play 'How Could You Mrs. Dick?)
Evelyn Dick was seductive. When she was brought into the police station for questioning she showed her legs off to the detectives, when sitting down by raising her skirt a little bit up her leg.(pg. 22-33 in the play 'How Could You Mrs. Dick?)
Evelyn Dick was manipulative. She is Manipulative because she uses her looks to her advantage with men. When John came over for the first time he brought her gifts and when she asked if he had a smoke and he said that he does not smoke, he offered to go and get her some. A lot of guys would by her gifts because of how beautiful she was.
